Hey there, fellow Disney Lorcana enthusiasts! Today, let's have a heart-to-heart about one of the game's nifty features – Shift. It's like the secret sauce that lets you bring in those higher-cost characters without breaking the bank. So, let's cozy up and dive into what Shift is all about.

Now, Shift is a little keyword that shows up on cards with different versions, like our pals Stitch or Aurora. Picture this: you can drop in the bigger version by tossing out a few less precious resources—usually 2 points less. Take Aurora, Dreaming Guardian, for example. Normally, she'd cost you 5, but with Shift, you snag her for a sweet 3. Not too shabby, right?
But why should you care about Shift? Well, it's like a nifty trick to save your magical ink. Let's say you're itching to play Stitch, Rockstar, and you've already got Stitch, New Dog doing their thing. With Shift, you're saving 2 ink, leaving room for another card to join the party. Plus, Shift lets you fast-track your cards into play. Imagine laying down Stitch, New Dog on turn 1, 2, or 3, and voila! By turn 4, you're rocking out with Stitch, Rockstar—no need to twiddle your thumbs until the usual turn 6.

Here's the cozy truth: cards with Shift can join the fun even if the character they're shifting onto hasn't fully dried yet. But, here's the laid-back part, if that's the case, the shifted character needs to dry before they can bust out their moves. If you're shifting onto a character that's already dried up, well, they can start strutting right away.
In a nutshell, Shift is like a warm blanket for your cards, making them more cost-effective. Set the stage by having another character with the same name in play. In The First Chapter, every color got 2 characters with the Shift vibe, except Sapphire, which got Aurora, Dreaming Guardian. With Rise of the Floodborn, every color has 4 Shift characters. So, get ready to add a touch of Shift magic to any color combo you fancy!
